Welcome to Little Yardley Farm, our small yet expansive corner of the world located in Grainger County, Tennessee. We’re so glad you’re here! Whether you’re a fellow chicken lover, a backyard farmer, or someone who just loves good, honest food. We hope our little farm feels like a place you’ll want to visit again and again.
How It All Began
What was supposed to begin as backyard chickens quickly grew into something more meaningful. We started with just five baby chicks in October 2024. Then we got hit with a real thing called “chicken math.” What began with five ended up in the hundreds. Watching those tiny chicks grow, learning their quirks, and gathering our very first egg were the moments that made us realize this wasn’t just a hobby anymore.
We fell in love with everything farm life had to offer. The early mornings, the quiet evenings, and the way each day brings a new lesson are all part of the experience. Before long, we decided to turn our passion into a purpose: raising happy, healthy poultry and sharing the results with our community.
Our Mission and Values
At Little Yardley Farm, we believe that happy, healthy animals make the best products. Our flock is raised with care, given plenty of room to roam, and treated with the respect they deserve. We’re not about shortcuts; we’re about doing things the right way, even if it takes a little longer.
We also value transparency. We want our customers to know exactly where their food comes from and to feel confident that it is raised with integrity. We encourage our customers to stop-on-by anytime to see how and where their products come from. If you have questions, we are always happy to answer them to the best of our ability. Our goal is simple: to provide fresh, nutritious eggs and poultry while being good stewards of the land and animals in our care.
Meet The Flock
Every chicken here has a story, and we love telling them from our Lavender Orpingtons, who strut around like royalty, to our bold Black Ameraucanas, who think they run the place. Each breed brings its own personality and charm.
We’ve also got a few comedians in the bunch, like the White Leghorns who insist on laying their eggs in the oddest corners of the farm, like it’s Easter every day, or the curious Buff Orpingtons who follow us around hoping for treats.
Let’s not forget to mention our heritage breed turkeys. They love to act like a cross between a man’s best friend, a dog, and a three-year-old child. There’s no better sound than listening to the chuckles of the turkeys.
We are also starting to experiment with quail, the smallest of our feathered family. There is always something to learn about on the farm and so much to do. We cannot wait to add quail eggs and meat to our growing list of products.
And then there’s our ducks, probably our most independent group of the bunch! They add a colorful something to the farm. They are breathtaking to look at, and they are starting to add to our egg count!
And of course, behind the flock are the humans. A family that loves early mornings, muddy boots, and the simple joy of gathering eggs, still warm from the nest. Every feathered friend on our farm is part of our story, family and we’re proud to share it.
What We Offer
Right now, Little Yardley Farm offers farm-fresh eggs that are collected daily and handled with care. You can not only see, but taste the difference: rich yolks, strong shells, and the unmistakable freshness that comes only from pasture-raised hens.
As we grow, we plan to add more poultry breeds, rabbits, and maybe even a few handmade farm goods along the way. Our dream is to create a space where the community can connect, learn, and appreciate what real small-scale farming looks like.
