FAQ
Before You Contact Us - Common Questions
Do you have live birds available right now?
Availability changes often with hatch schedules and customer preorders. If you want to see what we currently have available, check out our live birds! If you still do not find what you are looking for, feel free to contact us, as things change fast.
Can I place an order through Facebook or Instagram?
For accuracy and record-keeping, all orders must be placed through our website or confirmed directly by email.
Do you ship live birds or hatching eggs?
Not at this time. All poultry sales are local pick-up only. However, we are working to change this in the future!
Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer local delivery for select orders.
Delivery is available for live birds and certain farm products within our service area. Delivery fees are mileage-based and calculated using the current standard IRS mileage rate.
If you’re interested in delivery, please contact us with your address, and we’ll confirm availability and provide a delivery quote. Delivery fees must be paid before delivery.
How soon will you respond to messages?
We typically reply within 24 hours, often much sooner. During hatching season or high-volume times, replies may take a little longer, but we do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
Can I visit the farm?
At this time, we do not offer public farm tours due to biosecurity and flock safety concerns.
However, local pickup is available by appointment. We will give you directions and a time, if not selected at checkout, once your order is confirmed.
Do you accept deposits or hold birds?
Yes. Certain birds require a non-refundable deposit to reserve them. This ensures the bird is held specifically for you and removes it from available inventory. If you have questions about deposits or holding birds, please feel free to contact us anytime.
Do you sell outside of Tennessee?
We currently sell within Tennessee only due to live-animal transport regulations. If this ever changes, we will update the website and our social media pages.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, card payments, and online checkout for many items.
For pickups, we can process credit/debit cards through our farm’s secure payment system.
Do you offer any guarantees on live birds?
We guarantee that all birds leave our farm healthy and in good condition.
Once the bird leaves our care, we cannot be responsible for stress, transport issues, or the environment it enters. If you ever have concerns, please reach out — we’re here to help.
With that said, if you ever have any questions about care or issues after you leave our farm, we urge you to contact Little Yardley Farm.
Can I request a specific sex or color?
Yes! While we cannot guarantee sex on certain breeds, we will always do our best to meet your request if the bird is listed as sexed or vent-sexed. Because most of our breeds are heritage, color variations depend on the breed—feel free to contact Little Yardley Farm!
What should I bring for pickup?
Payment: If you only made a deposit, please bring a form of payment at pickup to pay your remaining balance. We can accept cash and debit/credit cards.
Secure Carrier: Please bring a secure carrier appropriate for the number and size of birds you are picking up.
We do not release birds without proper carriers for their safety. If you have any questions about what qualifies as a secure carrier, please contact Little Yardley Farm.
Questions: If you have any questions, bring those with you too!😁
