Meat Rabbit Exemption Petition

Tennessee’s small farms currently have no clear way to process and sell rabbit meat legally, even when customers are asking for it.
We’re asking lawmakers to create a common-sense exemption—like the one that already exists for poultry—so farms can offer safe, humane, locally raised rabbit meat.

Jason Yardley COO of Little Yardley Farm

Chief Operation Officer
and Co-Founder

Jason W. Yardley

Jason discovered his passion for farming while working as a young farm hand. Over the years, he raised chickens, rabbits, and more, and even spent time team-roping in rodeos. After high school, Jason entered the construction field and became a skilled jack-of-all-trades — a background that now benefits nearly every part of the farm.
He leads the daily operations, animal care, and hands-on work that keeps Little Yardley Farm running smoothly.

How Little Yardley Farm Was Born

Jason and Jennifer both grew up with a love for animals and a dream of one day owning a farm. But it wasn’t until years later, when their paths finally crossed, that their shared vision came to life.

They both reached a point where they were tired of seeing families — including their own — exposed to questionable store-bought food filled with antibiotics and hormones. They wanted something better… something honest.

Together, they began raising chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and rabbits the way they believed it should be done:
humanely, naturally, and with complete transparency.

Their goal is not only to provide healthy food but also to set an example of what small-scale farming can be — ethical, sustainable, and deeply rooted in family values.
