What “Day-Old Chick” Means at Little Yardley Farm

At Little Yardley Farm, “day-old chicks” refers to young chicks that are only a few days past hatch—never older juveniles. Our hatch schedule follows a consistent weekly rhythm: eggs go into lockdown on Sunday, hatch primarily on Wednesday, with a few late arrivals on Thursday. By the time customers pick up on Saturday, most chicks are 1–3 days old, which is the ideal age for strength, stability, and safe transport.

We reserve Friday for a full inspection of every chick to ensure they are alert, active, and thriving. This careful timing allows us to provide customers with the healthiest start possible.

What “Straight Run Only” Means

These chicks are sold straight run, meaning males and females are not separated. Any purchase may include a mix of both genders.
We do not currently offer sexed White Leghorn chicks.

Pickup Information – Local Pickup Only

These White Leghorn chicks are available for local pickup only at Little Yardley Farm in Tennessee. During checkout, you will select your preferred pickup date and time.

To ensure the health and wellbeing of your chicks, pickups must be made at the scheduled time. Every chick is inspected before going home to ensure it is healthy, alert, and thriving.

We recommend customers bring:

• A secure, ventilated chick transport box

• A small heat source (depending on outside temperature)

• Clean bedding for cushioning
